SLOW FASHION CLUB
As the President and Founder of the club, I had the opportunity to work talented students and manage inspiring projects, including the #WearItWise Campaign.
The Slow Fashion Club started with a idea over summer, with 5 members meeting to discuss their dreams for more sustainable fashion futures. The club grew quickly after the first clothing swap where students enjoyed the endless possibilities of fashion waste.
The club has existed for almost 18 months, and has over 50 members to date, with 450 sign-ups from students at SCAD.
The student club is created for students to get together, collaborate and share their excitement for sustainable fashion. This is a social group for students to find belonging in a community of creativity and passion.
Events hosted by the Slow Fashion Club include quarterly clothing swaps, mending workshops, upcycle workshops, fashion shows and panel discussions.
